VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena 

What is the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena? It’s a multi-purpose arena in Jacksonville, Florida which hosts concerts and sporting events. The arena opened in 2003 and seats 10,000 people. In addition to being home to the Jacksonville Suns, it has been host to an NHL preseason game between Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars as well as two NBA preseason games involving the Miami Heat. 

History of the arena 

the arena was built in 2003 and opened on February 19, 2003. It is owned by the City of Jacksonville and managed by Spectra Venue Management (formerly Global Spectrum). 

Jacksonville Suns the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena has been home to the Jacksonville Suns since their inaugural season in 2010. They currently play as a member club of the Southern League of Professional Baseball. 

NHL and NBA preseason games in addition to being home to the Jacksonville Suns, the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena has been hosting an NHL preseason game between Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars as well as two NBA preseason games involving the Miami Heat. 

Future of the arena

The future of the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena is currently unknown as the City of Jacksonville has not announced any plans to replace or renovate it. However, given that it’s only 14 years old, the arena will likely be around for a few more years.

In addition to the Jacksonville Suns play their home games, the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena also hosts a variety of concerts and sporting events. The arena is equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and sound, as well as a Jumbotron scoreboard. There are also some restaurants and bars located inside the arena for fans to enjoy before the game. 

How to get there?  

It’s easy to access the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena using Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) bus and rail routes. Public parking is also available and can be accessed via Gate A at West Bay Street or Gate B on South Liberty Street. Parking rates range from $20-$30 for events, but you should always check the official event website before attending.

If you’re traveling to VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena for an event, many hotels are located near or around Greater Jacksonville. However, if you want a hotel with great views of the arena and natural light then be sure to book one of the rooms at Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. The hotel is connected to the arena via a pedestrian bridge and is only a few minutes walks away. Additionally, if you’re looking for something to do before or after the game, there are plenty of restaurants and bars located in the nearby Jacksonville Landing district.
